SURVIVING MENOPAUSE - HEAT RELIEF WITH NEW BLOSSOM CREAM

Updated: May 4, 2020

An exciting journey for me has come to fruition in the last fortnight, slightly earlier than expected but good news for you as it means my 'Blossom' Cream is available now in time for Christmas when the heat is on!

Hot Flushes and Night Sweats are really exacerbated over Christmas due to these factors:

You're stressed - this will take its toll on your kidneys and increase the day time flushing

Rich Food and Drink - this will definitely exacerbate night sweats which are directly linked to your liver.

With time these symptoms can be alleviated naturally but right now you need something that will do the job and that is this cream - here's the link if you can't wait >>>

THE JOURNEY OF TESTING

So how did this cream come about, and how can I be sure that it works?

If you want to check out how successful the testing has been then I have some testimonials here >>>

"The cream is brilliant!!!

I have one in my bag for work and one at home. I take a deep sniff when I feel a hot flush coming on and then put a bit onto my pulse points on my wrists, and I don’t even notice I am cooling down, it just naturally happens. I haven’t taken any Sage tablets as I don’t need them. Plus it smells wonderful!!

MY STORY OF CREATION

The 'how it came about' has been an amazing learning experience for me and if you have a cuppa and a couple of minutes I'll fill you in!

I knew right back when I started investigating how I could help women from the perspective of Chinese Medicine that I would need something to help them in between treatments and until the underlying causes of symptoms were balanced.

Back in the heat of Summer 2018 women were really suffering with flushes and I wanted to help. I was already looking into essential oils and the effects they had on symptoms and I had a blend that was working on lifting low moods and calming anxiety, and I wondered whether I could combine this with easing the heat symptoms , as anxiety can trigger a flush.

I needed to learn fast so I went on 'Pharmacognosy' courses and got my aromatherapy certificate and insurance. Pharmacognosy is the self selection of essential oils by sniffing to use as medicine, and I'll admit this, it was for dogs!

It was a powerful experience seeing how dogs choose what they wanted and that a lot of the dosage just came from inhaling the oils. Some of them barely touched the skin, and this was how I started creating a blend for lifting low moods - relying on women's sense of smell to like or dislike a blend. The more you like and want to sniff, the more you need it and it's good for you.

At my talks I would get women to test, the blend of oils would split the room, those that loved and those that detested, this blend was really marmite, and this was great! Those that loved the smell admitted they suffered from low moods and the blend of oils made them feel happier.

Now I needed to switch to working on a blend for relieving heat symptoms.

I took advice on some classic oils for hormones, dogs v women, and came up with Clary Sage for women. Knowing that Geranium was a favourite of mine for relieving stress in my previous career, Peppermint was also needed for its ability to dilate blood vessels, cooling you down (it's great for popping on your forehead if you have a hot headache!). Lavender and Chamomile are the classic combination for calming, but Chamomile is THE smelliest oil, dogs love it but you wouldn't want it in your blend at the intensity that it would be required so I'm still working on that one; Lavender stayed!

At this point I was testing to see 'what smells nice' but I needed help to create a product worked for you but also fitted with my ethics and I remembered Carol from 'Pink & Green Organic Skincare' that I had met previously and bought wonderful products from. I called her and she was interested, this was so exciting.

We started having video calls and planning, and we created test oils, at that time I really wanted my product to be oil based. The oils were fantastic, they did work, I spilt them a few times, so I tried them in a roller ball but then realised you couldn't get the intensity for inhaling, so it was back to the drawing board.

Could we make it as a cream?

Carol's products are beautiful, organic, silky, free from chemicals and very importantly no animal products or tested on animals. Her first batch brought together the 2 components that I had been testing previously 'Lime and Juniper' from the lifting low moods testing, with the hormone and cooling blend, and in her words 'smell heavenly'. We had a blend that smelt great, but would it work?

"The cream smells really good and by the time I have applied and taken the 3 deep breaths as recommended the hot flush is over. Great product which I recommend." Tamsin, Edinburgh

TESTING, TESTING, TESTING

I come from a science background and I was a thorough tester when in computer software, so I tested, and I tested some more. Then when a new batch came out, and it was a slightly different colour, this gave me a wobble, but as Carol pointed out 'these are natural products, they vary in colour' (its the rosehip oil that changes in colour intensity. You know this product is made from fresh real components, its not a static factory formulated white!

So then I went through another whole test cycle to check that as the ingredients fluctuate that it doesn't affect the efficacy of the product. It doesn't, the testing was just as good if not seemed to be getting better.

Women started telling me that they could feel the calming effect of the cream almost immediately, others applied directly to itchy skin and got relief. I saw one woman apply the cream and she said 'should it work immediately?' I didn't know how to answer, but in those few seconds she said the 'flush went', she was incredibly excited at the speed it worked at.

I do laugh when I see the small print of a advert by a large cosmetics company when they say 81% of testers agree and you see that they tested on 22 women! I've tested on somewhere in the region of 200 women over the last 2 years, if they like the smell, and I mean really like it , to the point of 'wanting to eat it' at times, then the cream works for them. It's that simple, if it smells really good to you it is safe to use it, and it works, this is at the heart of 'Pharmacognosy' using our 'caveman' brain to assess if a plant is safe to eat or use medicinally.

THE POWER OF SCENT

I always tell women to inhale slowly, and some will do a quick sniff; no! Inhale slowly, for 5 or so seconds, inhale twice if needs be :)

The cream starts working on the brain first, our nose is the only part of our nervous system that reaches the outside world. Inhalation draws scent molecules to the limbic system of our brains, this governs emotions, motivation and moods. Start altering your mood and you start altering what's going on in your body.

Applying the cream to your inner wrists, pulse points where you feel heat and at night to the soft skin on the soles of your feet are access areas where the essential oils are absorbed into your blood stream; cooling, calming, balancing.

WHATS IN A NAME?

Trying to come up with a name, what a nightmare!! Everything meno-related is trademarked, but then does it need that kind of name?

'Blossom in Your Menopause'

The name was under my nose - 'Blossom' and I'm proud to say that it is now available to help you find relief from the heat this Christmas time and throughout your menopause transition!

Beware Menopause-branded supplements

There is very little scientific backing on most of the supplements that are currently flooding the market at present - you are being sold to; you are being promised that this one pill will solve everything. I look at the ingredients and percentages of all supplements that I'm notified about or come across. Do not believe any menopause expert endorsement; I don't know who these women are.

The menopause experts that I trust don't endorse any of the products I've looked at. Some supplements will help with some symptoms; it's better if the supplement is targeted to a small set of symptoms that are linked; it's more likely to be effective.  They can be a good starting place but over time will become less effective; don't be disheartened it's likely that they don't have enough dosage in for what you now need. I have a Starter Supplement Guide that  explains what you need and why you need it i effective levels to help relieve your symptoms naturally.
